Boiler servicing for all makes, regular servicing will save you money and keep your home warm.

Boiler Servicing Cambridge

A boiler service is an annual check and test conducted to ensure that your boiler is working efficiently. Having your boiler serviced annually helps prevent boiler breakdowns by catching small problems that could grow into big ones, potentially leaving you with no heating or hot water and a large bill.

All boiler manufacturers recommend boilers are serviced annually and this is a requirement if your boiler is still under warranty. It may also void your home insurance if your boiler has been neglected.

You can trust Cambs Heating to carry out an in depth service to your appliance. All of our engineers are GasSafe registered and we are licensed to work on all makes and models of natural Gas, LPG and Oil fired appliances. We offer two levels of boiler servicing:

  • Standard interim boiler service (recommended annually)
  • Full strip and clean boiler service (recommended every 3-5 years)

Please note: In order to carry out a boiler service, the appliance must be in good working order. If you are experiencing any issues with your boiler (no heating or hot water, leaking, strange noises, error codes etc) a diagnostic visit will be required.

Standard interim boiler service

Generally includes the following;

  • Visual inspection of the appliance and the entire length of the flue, including the flue termination.
  • Test the gas pressure and/or gas rate of the appliance.
  • Flue and combustion analysis and integrity check.
  • Check that the electrical connections are clean and in good condition.
  • Check that fans and other key components are working as they should.
  • Check that seals are intact.
  • Check that electrodes are in a good condition.
  • Check that safety devices are working correctly.
  • Check that condensate trap is not blocked and clean if necessary.
  • Drain boiler and check expansion vessel pressure, top up as necessary.
  • Clean Magnetic system filter.
  • Check that the integrity of the boiler casing has not been corrupted.
  • Inspect water and gas pipework local to the appliance.

Full strip and clean boiler service

In addition to all of the points listed above, a full strip and clean boiler service generally includes the following;

  • Replacing the electrodes (most modern condensing appliances).
  • Cleaning out the burner and the main heat exchanger.
  • Renewing the burner seal (most modern condensing appliances).

Before we attend

Please ensure the appliance is in good working order. We are unable to fully complete a boiler service if the appliance is not working.

Please clear the area of any items (or cover items that cannot be removed) so that the engineer has appropriate access to the appliance and its ancillaries, including the gas meter.

For non-combination boilers, please ensure that the heating system is cool upon our arrival so that we have sufficient capacity to test the system at maximum rate.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure sufficient access to inspect the appliance, the gas meter and the appliance flue upon the entire length, including the flue termination (access to servicing cupboards in communal areas may be required).

 Parking is required within 50m of the site, any parking charges or fines incurred due to adequate parking not being provided will passed on to the customer.

During the inspection, if the engineer finds the appliance to be unsafe the appropriate actions will be taken (for more details please see our full Terms and Conditions)

The inspection is chargeable regardless of the outcome of the service and any further visits required to remedy issues or to re-inspect will be chargeable.

**The engineer reserves the right to refuse to carry out any works that may cause further issues (such as leaks) due to the poor condition of / or access to the appliance or its ancillaries.
